Hoofstuk 6: 'n Wêreld van oordaad
Jaap en Nadya het hulself verdiep bevind in die wêreld van Moskou se elite en die RFD, met die talle uitdagings wat daarmee gepaard gegaan het. “Jy is so ’n interessante man, Jaap,” fluister die vrou. "Hoekom kry ons nie iewers meer privaat nie?"
Jaap het gehuiwer, maar onthou toe die liefde wat hy met Nadya gedeel het. “Nee, dankie,” antwoord hy ferm. "My hart behoort aan Nadya."
Soos die maande verbygegaan het, het die druk van hul leefstyl Jaap en Nadya se verhouding meer beduidend begin beïnvloed. Hulle het gevind dat hulle meer gereeld stry, hul vertroue in mekaar is gespanne deur die voortdurende blootstelling aan die donkerder kant van hul wêreld.
“Ek is jammer, Nadya,” het Jaap een aand ná ’n besonder hewige argument gesê. "Ek bekommer my soms net oor ons, oor hoe hierdie lewe ons raak. Ek wil nie verloor wat ons het nie."
Nadya sug, haar stem word sag. "Ek is ook bekommerd, Jaap. Maar ons kan nie toelaat dat hierdie wêreld ons verteer nie. Ons moet aan ons liefde vashou en onthou wat werklik saak maak."
Saam het hulle besluit om waaksaam te bly teen die gevare en versoekings wat hul verhouding bedreig, en hulself herinner aan die liefde wat hulle in die eerste plek bymekaar gebring het.
Terwyl hulle voortgegaan het om die glansryke maar verraderlike wêreld van Moskou se elite te navigeer, het Jaap en Nadya voor uitdagings te staan gekom wat hul liefde en hul toewyding aan mekaar getoets het.
