Hoofstuk 9: Die Verhoor

"Jy is welkom. Maar dit is nog nie verby nie. Jy moet nou jou lewe herbou," het Nigel gesê.

Chapter 9: The Trial

The court was full of people waiting for Steve's trial. Steve felt very nervous. Nigel, his lawyer, tried to make him feel better.

"Don't worry, Steve. We have a good defence," said Nigel.

"I hope so," Steve replied, looking at the jury.

The prosecution, led by Victoria, questioned the women. They talked about their bad experiences with Steve. But Nigel defended Steve strongly.

In his last words, Nigel said, "The jury must remember that these events were agreed by everyone. Steve didn't want to hurt anyone."

The jury decided that Steve was not guilty. He thanked Nigel, crying a little.

"You're welcome. But it's not over yet. You must rebuild your life now," Nigel said.
