Hoofstuk 11: Die Ongeluk
Emiko, wat gestres voel en op haar ou maniere vertroosting wil hê, het besluit om een aand te gaan ry nadat sy te veel gedrink het. Terwyl sy vinnig in die paaie gery het, haar oordeel aangetas, het sy beheer oor haar motor verloor en 'n boom getref.
Die ongeluk het haar in 'n rolstoel gelaat, fisies en emosioneel beseer. Hierdie onverwagte situasie het haar verhoudings met die ander lede van Twelve Forever nog moeiliker gemaak.
Yoko, wat vir Emiko in die hospitaal besoek het, het gesê: "Emiko, ek kan nie glo dit het gebeur nie. Ons was bedoel om mekaar te help om sterk te bly, en nou... ek weet net nie wat om te doen nie."
Emiko, met trane in haar oë, het geantwoord: "Ek is so jammer, Yoko. Ek het gedink ek kan dit self hanteer, maar ek was verkeerd. Ek het jou in die steek gelaat, en ek het myself ook in die steek gelaat."
Terwyl Emiko haar nuwe lewe probeer aanvaar het, het die ander lede van Twelve Forever haar ondersteun en hul hulp en motivering aangebied.
Ayako, wat probeer het om Emiko beter te laat voel, het gesê: "Jy is nie alleen nie, Emiko. Ons is almal hier vir jou, en ons sal jou hierdeur help. Jy kan op ons staatmaak."
Chieko het bygevoeg: "Dis reg, Emiko. Ons is almal saam hierin. Jy was nog altyd daar vir ons, en nou is dit ons beurt om daar te wees vir jou."
Met die uitdagende taak om haar lewe weer op te bou, het Emiko krag gevind in die ondersteuning van haar vriende en die wete dat, ten spyte van die baie probleme wat hulle in die gesig gestaar het, die vroue van Twelve Forever mekaar steeds ondersteun.
Chapter 11: The Accident
Emiko, feeling stressed and wanting comfort in her old ways, decided to go for a drive one night after drinking too much. As she drove fast down the roads, her judgement affected, she lost control of her car and hit a tree.
The crash left her in a wheelchair, physically and emotionally hurt. This unexpected situation made her relationships with the other members of Twelve Forever even more difficult.
Yoko, visiting Emiko in the hospital, said, "Emiko, I can't believe this has happened. We were meant to help each other stay strong, and now... I just don't know what to do."
Emiko, with tears in her eyes, replied, "I'm so sorry, Yoko. I thought I could handle it by myself, but I was wrong. I let you down, and I let myself down as well."
As Emiko tried to accept her new life, the other members of Twelve Forever supported her, offering their help and motivation.
Ayako, attempting to make Emiko feel better, said, "You're not alone, Emiko. We're all here for you, and we'll help you through this. You can rely on us."
Chieko added, "That's right, Emiko. We're all in this together. You've always been there for us, and now it's our turn to be there for you."
Facing the challenging task of rebuilding her life once again, Emiko found strength in the support of her friends and the knowledge that, despite the many problems they had faced, the women of Twelve Forever still supported each other.
