Capítol 5: La preocupació de Toivo i Viljo
En Toivo caminava amunt i avall a l'oficina fosca, agafant amb força el seu telèfon mòbil. En Viljo, assegut a l'escriptori, va mirar la pantalla del seu ordinador portàtil sense mirar. La notícia que la seva empresa estava gairebé en fallida havia estat un gran xoc, però no sabien que es tractava d'una informació falsa difosa intel·ligentment per Antti. La veu d'en Toivo va tremolar mentre parlava.
"Viljo, això no pot ser correcte. Hi ha d'haver un error. La nostra empresa anava molt bé fa només un mes!"
Viljo es va fregar el front i va sospirar: "Ja ho sé, Toivo. Però mira aquests números. Les xifres no menteixen. Si aquesta informació és certa, hem acabat".
Toivo va deixar de caminar i va mirar en Viljo, amb els ulls plens de preocupació. "Però què podem fer? Hem treballat molt per fer aquesta empresa. No podem deixar-la ensorrar!"
Viljo es va recolzar enrere a la cadira i va tancar els ulls. "No ho sé, Toivo. Simplement no ho sé."
Just aleshores, Antti va entrar a l'habitació, fent veure que estava preocupada. "Senyors, acabo de sentir la mateixa terrible notícia. Estic molt molest, sincerament. Però potser hi ha alguna cosa que puc fer per ajudar".
Toivo va mirar l'Antti, i l'esperança apareixia als seus ulls. —Què et sembla, Antti?
Antti va somriure: "Bé, fa temps que penso en això i estic disposat a comprar les teves accions de l'empresa per una petita part del seu preu original. No salvarà l'empresa, però podria fer els teus problemes de diners personals una mica millor".
Viljo va arrufar les celles. "Per què ho faries, Antti? També perdràs diners".
Antti es va arronsar d'espatlles. "Anomenem-ho lleialtat, o sentiment de responsabilitat cap als meus socis. Hem passat moltes coses junts. És el mínim que puc fer".
La preocupació de Toivo es va fer càrrec, i ràpidament va acceptar. "Estic agraït per la teva oferta, Antti. L'acceptaré".
En Viljo va dubtar, sentint que alguna cosa no anava bé, però al final va cedir a la seva pròpia preocupació. "D'acord, Antti. Acceptem la teva oferta."
Antti va intentar amagar la seva felicitat mentre donava la mà a Toivo i Viljo. "Senyors, em sap greu que s'hagi arribat a això, però espero que la meva oferta us ajudi una mica".
Amb això, Toivo i Viljo van cedir les seves accions a Antti, decidint el seu destí i ajudant sense saber-ho al pla de venjança d'Antti. No sabien que els problemes econòmics que tenien por eren un truc acuradament planificat pel mateix Antti.
Chapter 5: Toivo and Viljo's Worry
Toivo walked up and down in the dark office, gripping his mobile phone tightly. Viljo, sitting at the desk, gazed blankly at his laptop screen. The news that their company was almost bankrupt had been a big shock, but they didn't know that it was false information cleverly spread by Antti. Toivo's voice shook as he spoke.
"Viljo, this can't be right. There must be some mistake. Our company was doing really well just a month ago!"
Viljo rubbed his forehead and sighed, "I know, Toivo. But look at these numbers. The figures don't lie. If this information is true, we're finished."
Toivo stopped walking and looked at Viljo, his eyes filled with worry. "But what can we do? We've worked so hard to make this company. We can't just let it fall apart!"
Viljo leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. "I don't know, Toivo. I just don't know."
Just then, Antti came into the room, pretending to be worried. "Gentlemen, I've just heard the same awful news. I'm really upset, honestly. But maybe there's something I can do to help."
Toivo looked at Antti, hope appearing in his eyes. "What do you think, Antti?"
Antti smiled, "Well, I've been thinking about this for some time, and I'm ready to buy your shares in the company for a small part of their original price. It won't save the company, but it might make your personal money problems a bit better."
Viljo frowned. "Why would you do that, Antti? You'll lose money too."
Antti shrugged. "Call it loyalty, or a feeling of responsibility to my partners. We've been through a lot together. It's the least I can do."
Toivo's worry took over, and he quickly agreed. "I'm grateful for your offer, Antti. I'll take it."
Viljo hesitated, feeling that something was wrong, but in the end, he gave in to his own worry. "Alright, Antti. We accept your offer."
Antti tried to hide his happiness as he shook hands with Toivo and Viljo. "Gentlemen, I'm sorry it's come to this, but I hope my offer helps you a bit."
With that, Toivo and Viljo signed over their shares to Antti, deciding their fate and unknowingly helping Antti's revenge plan. They didn't know that the financial problems they were scared of were a carefully planned trick by Antti himself.
